How they met: In middle school, Doug and Dorie met at a friend’s cabin.

The proposal: On a hike in Girdwood, they stopped at a waterfall, and Doug surprised Dorie by proposing.

Most memorable moment…

For her: “Having special time alone during our first look on the beach.”

For him: “Seeing so many people who I love – including my bride – all together in one place.”

Unique aspects of the day: “Our location was amazing. We had a great outdoor dance floor that was covered with lights.” Plus, the couple opted out of a traditional guestbook and instead had guests sign an airplane propeller.

Funniest moment: While out on the dance floor, one of the couple’s good friends had “a serious wardrobe malfunction.”
