Bride’s name: Jaclyn Marie Erbey

Groom’s name: Salvador Vicente Hernandez

Occupations: Jaclyn is a small business owner and Salvador is a member service representative at Credit Union 1.

How they met: The couple met through mutual friends and during the next six years, “life just kept bringing us back together.”

The proposal: “Salvador handmade an ornament to look like a golden snitch from Harry Potter and put the ring on it and surprised me with it while we were decorating the Christmas tree (my favorite annual tradition).”

Number of guests: 120

Wedding colors: Navy, hunter green, maroon and gold – “all of the Harry Potter House colors.”

Most memorable moment…

For her: “I remember worrying about every little detail, but the moment I started walking down the aisle and saw my husband I was humbled and reminded that ‘THIS’ is what I was here for. The rest fell away and a peaceful calm feeling washed over me. I will never forget the image of him standing there.”

For him: “Waiting in anticipation at the end of the aisle for Jaclyn to walk down to join me. Looking at her in that dress was the most beautiful thing I’d ever seen and it instantly brought me to tears.”

Unique aspects of the day: With inspiration from Harry Potter, “we had flying keys for wedding favors that were bottle openers.” Also, for transportation, guests took “the ‘Hogwarts Express’ from Bird Creek to the venue because there was no onsite parking.”

Funniest moment: “During the father-daughter dance, our 3-year-old golden retriever, Doug, joined us on the floor.”

Three words that best describe the day: “Fast, magical, and fun.”

If they had the chance to do it again, what they would do differently: “We would accept more help from others and not sweat the small stuff.”

What Jaclyn loves most about her husband: “I love his patience! He’s the only person that knows how to calm me and redirect my fire.”

What Salvador loves most about his wife: “Her ability to bring the fight out in me. She pushes me outside of my comfort zone to be the best version of myself.”

Best advice for a couple planning their wedding: “Take the help people offer and if you feel shorthanded lean on them instead of taking on the burden alone. If you can survive the wedding, you deserve the marriage!”
