LauraBeth Dodd and Gabe Woodmansee

June 18, 2017

At first, Gabe had planned to propose to LauraBeth while hiking the Butte in Palmer – the same spot where Gabe had realized he was falling in love with her. “After a test run by Gabe, falling down the steep side because of the ice and tearing his pants, he chose to alter the plans,” says LauraBeth. Instead, Gabe popped the question while on a coastal stroll they often take. Knowing the big day wouldn’t run perfectly, LauraBeth made a game out of the wedding’s flaws to anticipate what may go wrong and how it could add uniqueness to the day. “We both did this,” says LauraBeth, “and it changed our perspective on the day’s imperfections.” In the end, the day was sunny, despite the rainy and drizzly days beforehand. However, nothing made the day brighter than the 4-year-old at the reception who got everyone dancing. “(He) was managing to recruit and lead a dance line with all my girlfriends!” says LauraBeth.
