Rhoslyn and Will knew each other through their school years, but they first became close when performing the Nutcracker ballet together in Homer. Despite being professional dancers, Rhoslyn and Will didn’t have a first dance planned. But, with some encouragement, they took the floor anyway. “We twirled, spun, dipped, stepped and executed lifts as if we had practiced many times. It was so much fun!” To celebrate her Scottish heritage, Rhoslyn and Will wore traditional tartan sashes representing the special colors for their clans. They walked to the melody of bagpipes and exchanged tartans. “Here, the groom takes the bride’s tartan and replaces it with his own family’s colors,” explains Rhoslyn. At the reception, Rhoslyn and her sister Rhonwen actually concluded a long-standing mystery involving a 30-year-old bottle of champagne that went missing from their older sister’s wedding: The two (who secretly drank the champagne after their older sister's ceremony) confessed while giving their toasts. “It was incredible seeing (my sister and brother-in-law's) faces transform from confusion (why are they talking about us?) to surprise (It was you two all along?!) and finally gratitude for bringing forward the truth, as well as a genuine replacement,” says Rhoslyn.
