Bride’s name: Rylee Briske

Groom’s name: Jesse Mahoney

Occupations: Rylee is a stay-at-home mom of three girls, and Jesse is a superintendent with Alpine Electric.

How they met: The bride’s cousin/best friend introduced the two.

The proposal: While on vacation in Hawaii, Rylee and Jesse rented kayaks for the day and kayaked out to a private island. “It was such a perfect day and I remember the water looking so blue,” recalls Rylee. “As we were hiking around the island to find a swimming hole, Jesse stopped and proposed. He proposed with a ring that belonged to his grandmother. It was perfect.”

Number of guests: 75

Wedding colors: Navy, blush and gold

Most memorable moment…

For her: “Feeling extremely nervous walking down the aisle and seeing Jesse waiting for me at the altar and having this overwhelming sense of love and joy that I was about to marry the love of my life. I had waited so long to become Mrs. Mahoney that it almost felt like a dream.”

For him: “Seeing my daughters coming out throwing flowers and knowing my future wife would be walking out. It was the most joyful feeling that I’ve ever experienced seeing my wife and daughters and how beautiful they looked. I felt so lucky and blessed and almost lost it at the altar. My sister had to tell me to breathe so I didn’t pass out.”

Funniest moment: “Jesse’s brother Tom stripped his shirt off and started trying to give Jesse a lap dance. In the moment we weren’t super thrilled about it but looking back on it, it was hilarious.”

Unique aspects of the day: A memory table, honoring loved ones who had passed, featured photos of the bride’s mom and the groom’s father. The song that the bride walked down the aisle to was written by the groom’s father, Will, who was a musician. Will’s close friend Rod Rongstad, who played music with him before he passed away, performed the processional song as the bride walked down the aisle. Also, the groom’s older sister Anna wrote the entire wedding script that was used to officiate the wedding.
Three words that best describe their day: “Intimate, elegant, vintage.”

If they had the chance to do it again, what they would do differently: “I’m sure I could think of a couple things I’d do differently but looking back on it, everything turned out so perfect that I can’t bring myself to change a thing.”

What Rylee loves most about her husband: “If I had to pick one it would be how hardworking and completely dedicated he is to his family. He is the definition of a ‘good man.’ Let’s not forget how completely handsome he is. Our girls’ future husbands are going to have very large shoes to fill.”

What Jesse loves most about his wife: “She supports me no matter what. She has made me a better person without forcing me to change who I am and has shown me more love than I ever knew I deserved.”

Best advice for a couple planning their wedding: “Listen to each other’s wants/needs and when things get stressful always remember the reason you’re marrying each other.”
