Erin Schutte and Jason Chalstrom

September 4, 2010

Erin and Jason wanted their wedding to be more than one day of celebration, especially with so many friends and family coming from out of state. The couple planned several events the week of the wedding including a girls get together and bridal shower, a welcome barbecue at their home, a rehearsal dinner on the Tanana Chief Sternwheeler, and a post-wedding brunch. “These events were spectacular because we had family members who hadn’t seen each other in over 15 years reconnect and Jason and I were able to spend time with everyone to celebrate not only our union but the union of our families. It was truly a week of celebration, not just one day!” The couple chose non-traditional songs for the ceremony, such as Brad Paisley’s “Waiting on a Woman” (a running joke in the family as Jason is always waiting on Erin). “My dad and I walked (down the aisle) to Enya’s ‘Only Time’ and at the end of the ceremony, we walked out as man and wife to ‘Sweet Home Alabama.’ I will never forget the chuckles and cheers when the song came on – it made everyone smile!” says Erin. “I loved that everything about the wedding was a detail that we did together and it all turned out exactly as we had imagined; it was perfect in every way, every detail. We had the wedding of our dreams.”
