Most people would feel apprehensive about letting their friends date their siblings, but not Mike’s sister. She actually insisted that her friend Melissa would have a great time with Mike and pushed for the two to meet. After overcoming trial runs, they dated for two years. One day while shopping at a jewelry store, Melissa spotted a yellow diamond ring that she had been eyeing for months. They walked out of the jewelry store with the ring that day and were engaged. The couple’s Mediterranean-inspired wedding – in rich hues of blue, orange, lime green and gold – brought warmth to the reception site at Muse. All of the bridesmaids wore different styles of dresses in various shades of blue, just like the shades of the ocean. Each groomsman’s boutonniere also matched the exact shade of blue that their partner wore. For wedding favors, biscotti and Mediterranean spice rub packages in orange, blue and green bags were set out on every table. Melissa admits that wedding-day nerves got the best of her and she started to stress over all the little things. “But when I walked down the aisle towards Mike, I started crying thinking about my husband, my daughter and how this is the beginning of the rest of our lives.”
