How they met: “I worked with Luke’s aunt and she kept insisting I meet him. After three months of her insisting we would be perfect together, I finally agreed. Turns out she was right.”

Wedding colors: Dusty blues
Unique and special aspects of the day: “Close friends and family helped make our wedding happen. Luke smoked salmon and his cousins put the platters together, (a family friend) officiated for us, Luke’s cousin was emcee, Luke’s sister made our cake and cupcakes, a family friend did our makeup, and everyone pitched in to set up, and our photographer is a close friend as well. It made everything more meaningful.”
Most memorable moment…
For her: “Luke and I both have scattered friends and family; it was amazing to have everyone from all across the states, as well as local friends and family all in one place together celebrating.”
For him: “Being able to have my grandpa and Shayna’s grandmother there, and being able to gather with all our friends and family.”
Funniest moment: “While our photographer was taking pictures of the groomsmen, they realized they had swapped pants on accident and had to swap back in the bushes. Another funny moment: My maid of honor, as a joke, gave me a plunger for my birthday in 4th grade, and it got passed back and forth for years. I didn’t realize she still had it and she presented it to me during her speech.”
If they had the chance to do it again, what they would do differently: “Finish everything up the week before. We waited on a lot of small tasks that we thought wouldn’t take much time and we weren’t able to spend as much time as we would’ve liked with out-of-town visitors the week before because we were putting small things together.”
Best piece of advice for a couple planning a wedding: “The day is about celebrating the two of you as a couple; don’t forget that while planning.”
