When Joseph found out he would be deployed for about a year, he asked Tabitha to marry him, and the two had a courthouse wedding. “We kept it a secret for over a year,” remembers Tabitha. Through all of that time, their love for each other only grew. “The day of my college graduation, right after the ceremony, Joseph asked me publicly to marry him, and shortly after, we had our ceremony,” continues Tabitha. On their big day, the couple felt surrounded not only by wilderness but the love of many family members and friends. Their ceremony site was tucked away in the woods, with gorgeous mountain views. “The location was in Girdwood, in an old gold mining community in the mountains, where people still find treasure today,” says Tabitha. Tabitha and Joseph were able to sneak away for beautiful photos of just the two of them and nature. In fact, they were so close to nature during the ceremony that squirrels ran off with a piece of wedding cake!
