Cody had just returned from deployment when he met Ashley while skiing at Alyeska. "I kept seeing this beautiful girl," says Cody. "I later approached her at the Sitzmark," and they've been inseparable ever since. For the proposal, Cody wanted to do something very unique. During a trip to Tennessee, they stopped near the Mammoth Caves National Park where Cody had arranged a lantern light tour. He popped the question while under a "starry sky" made of gypsum in the cave ceiling. What Ashley remembers most about her day is their one-on-one time together before the ceremony. "I got to see how incredibly handsome Cody looked. I was so proud to have such an honorable and selfless husband who loves me more than I'll ever know." For Cody, he remembers how beautiful Ashley looked. "I will never forget that, and how happy I was that I had found my life-long partner and woman of my dreams." The best part of the day, agree Ashley and Cody, was spending it with their friends and family. "They were a huge help in making the day a success."
