Hannah met Paul through her brother. “He was actually my brother’s best friend, so I knew him really well before we started dating,” recalls Hannah. “My brother was ‘weirded-out’ for a while, but came around to the idea of being brothers.” Instead of a traditional wedding, Hannah wanted to do something “fun and crazy,” she says. “I wanted something different because I’m a spontaneous person.” The couple’s Alice in Wonderland theme was just that, complete with a tea party candy buffet, 8’x8’ prints inspired by the book, and a photo booth where their guests could get their picture taken with Alice and the Chesire cat, while wearing hats and props. Their best man must have been playing off of the theme because he was running late “for a very important date.” They had to wait for him to start since he was providing the tandem bicycle for their photos. Once he finally arrived, “we started walking before the quartet could even turn to the page of our song,” says Hannah with a laugh. But all silliness aside, both Hannah and Paul agree that the moment they looked into each other’s eyes and said “I do” is something they will never forget.
