Justin proposed to Kelsey while on vacation in Las Vegas. He got down on one knee with a box in his hand, and said, “Here, open this,” recalls Kelsey. “When I opened the box I found an onion ring! But I thought it was all a joke and my heart sank until he pulled out another box with the real ring and asked me to marry him.” Since Kelsey and Justin met at a coffee shop, and Kelsey works at one, they decided to have a coffee-themed wedding. Coffee beans were tied in with the bouquets, in the centerpieces and on the cake, and their signature drink was a Mochatini. Instead of a groom’s cake, Kelsey had fondant nuts and bolts made and hidden in the cake so they would fall out and surprise Justin as they cut into it. What Kelsey remembers most about their day was the special promise Justin made to her daughter, Aubrina. After the vows, he called her up and had vows for her along with a necklace. “She listened to every word and still talks about it till this day. It was beautiful.” When the night was nearly over, Kelsey and Justin jumped hand-in-hand into the lake. “I wish I could have seen everyone’s face because no one thought we would really do it!”
