Alex & Daniel

May 23, 2021

Bride’s name: Alex Bergholtz

Groom’s name: Dan Serventi

How they met: In college on their first day of cross-country running practice. “The coach had us ‘Speed Date’ to get to know everyone on the team. We started dating a year later!”

Number of guests: 35+

Wedding colors: Dusty blue and vintage mauve

Unique and special aspects of their wedding day: “Dried florals! I dried most of the flowers and my florist put together the bouquets. Many of the flowers were from bouquets Dan had purchased over the four years of us dating. We also had each of our parents and our bridal party share a Bible verse about Love that they dedicated to us. We used lace from my mom’s wedding dress to tie my bouquet. We took a few moments after the ceremony by ourselves before we greeted our guests. The tables at our reception were made by Alex’s father from a tree that almost took out their house. We also tied all of our old running shoes to our getaway car.”

Most memorable moment…

For her: “Our first dance. We were both singing along to the music ('Yellow' by Coldplay) and just overwhelmed with happiness.”

For him: “Alex walking down the aisle.”

Funniest moment: “When my dad flipped my sister while they were dancing and she almost kicked all the decor off the ceiling.”

Three words that best describe the day: “Blissful, joyous, thankful”

Best advice for a couple planning their wedding: “Take 5-10 minutes right after the ceremony to be by yourselves. The rest of the day will go by so fast, and it is nice to share those few quick moments together.”
