Manuela Branca and Bryan McKenzie

July 14, 2020

On the day of his proposal, Bryan told Manuela to get ready – they were going on an adventure. “He took me on a hike to see the sunrise at the same spot where we had our first kiss,” says Manuela. “It’s the same spot he told me he loved me for the first time. The sky was orange and red and just beautiful – it was the perfect proposal.” Manuela says her favorite part of their wedding day was “Everything! From the beauty of Alaska, to the helicopter ride, the hanging glacier, to dog sledding, to petting the puppies and cutting our cake on the beautiful glacier with the amazing water behind us. It truly was a magical experience.” Some wild squirrels even made an appearance to watch the ceremony! While squirrels watching a wedding is amusing, the day had an even funnier moment: Manuela’s "something blue" was her underwear, and she had dropped them into one of her boots for safekeeping while she was getting ready. The photographer popped into the bridal suite to grab Manuela’s boots and rings for photos, and thought that the blue clothing item in the boots were the bride’s socks. “I thought to myself, ‘oh no, wait!’ ” remembers Manuela, “but before I knew it she was out the door with my boots, my ring, my flowers and my undies to photograph away!”
