Bride’s name: Mazzy Jackson

Groom’s name: Luke Fritzel

Occupations: Both are college students and are working in commercial fishing.

How they met: The two went to junior high and high school together and were involved in school sports together, including cross country running, nordic sking and track.

The proposal: “Luke led me to our favorite short hike/lookout at McHugh Creek on solstice to watch the sunset and proposed there.”

Number of guests: 75

Wedding colors: “A large array,” says Mazzy, including soft peaches, pinks and rustic tones.

Most memorable moment…

For her: “I remember waking up at 4 am to fog surrounding the whole venue to the point where you couldn't even see the trees around us. And also, all of our close friends and family smiling and swing dancing and celebrating with us.”

For him: “What I remember most is Mazzy walking down the aisle.”

Unique and special aspects of the day: “Almost all of our close family and friends already knew one another and it felt really intimate and special to have those that could make it there in such a crazy time,” recalls Mazzy. Another unique touch was the kombucha drink trailer with a variety of flavors on tap!

Funniest moment: “During our first dance, Luke’s watch band got stuck in my hair! It made both of us and all of our guests burst out in laughter.”

Three words that best describe their day: “Intimate, romantic, joyful.”

If they had the chance to do it again, what they would do differently: “I wouldn't do anything differently!” says Mazzy. “Every part was a dream!”

What Mazzy loves most about her husband: “I love his character and ability to make every situation seem possible.”

What Luke loves most about his wife: “Her persistence and how she cares for people.”

Best advice for a couple planning their wedding: “Choose the people YOU want at your wedding and don’t be afraid to do things that aren't the status quo; the day is yours!”
