Bride’s name: Megan Langford

Groom’s name: Travis Taylor

Occupations: Megan is a flight attendant and Travis manages tour operations.

How they met: In 2017, Travis’ sister Emily and Megan’s friend Lisa conspired together to set them up on a blind date.

The proposal: What Megan thought was a last-minute, “spontaneous” flightseeing trip on K2 Aviation turned into a glacier landing on the Ruth Glacier, in Denali National Park. With an undercover photographer posing as a tourist to document it all, Travis got down on one knee in the snow and asked Megan to be his forever adventure partner.

Number of guests: 140

Wedding colors: Maroon, navy and gold

Most memorable moment…

For her: “It was so wonderful watching all my friends and family beaming at me as I walked down the aisle to Travis. I love Alaska, and it meant so much that people traveled from all over the country to join us for our day and see the state I now call home.”

For him: “It was a perfect, cool, crisp fall day – it flew by so fast and I wish I could put the whole day on rewind or slow-mo and enjoy the fairytale again! It was just a perfect day celebrating our love with all our family and close friends. We even saw beluga whales while driving down to the wedding venue!”

Funniest moment: Since the couple loves to travel, Megan borrowed a beverage cart from Alaska Airlines. It was pushed, decorated with flowers, down the aisle by two flight attendant friends. “They served champagne and cookies while a third flight attendant gave a speech/briefing on safety, the nearest ‘lavatories’ and the ‘federal requirements’ of the wedding, such as signing the guest book and visiting the photo booth. It was a hilarious way to set the tone for our fun day.”

Unique aspects of the day: Megan and Travis wove in special touches throughout their day, like celebrating Megan’s Texan roots with barbecue brisket and sausage flown from Texas, and Travis giving his groomsmen a pair of socks for their favorite football team. They also treated their family to an Alaska adventure: “Travis set up optional activities for our guests to experience Alaska. We joined them on the Alaska Railroad on a day trip up to Talkeetna and back. We had a huge group ride the Alyeska tram up to watch the sunset after our rehearsal dinner. And the week after the wedding, we joined guests on a glacier cruise day trip on a boat out of Whittier.”

Three words that best describe their day: “Relaxed, joyful, fairytale.”

If they had the chance to do it again, what they would do differently: “I would have done more of the smaller tasks ahead of time. And delegate, delegate, delegate!”

What Megan loves most about her husband: “Travis is incredibly thoughtful and kind; he is intentional and always looking to grow and learn in our relationship. And not only is he sweet and considerate, he is so fun to be around.”

What Travis loves most about his wife: “It’s hard to pick one thing, but I love that Megan is a genuinely nice person and has a heart for others. I also love that she is adventurous, an encourager, and loves Jesus.”

Best advice for a couple planning a wedding? “Whether it’s a dinner one-on-one, grabbing a drink or dessert or even just a walk, we highly recommend some intentional time together the week of the wedding.”
