That first night we shared stories of our friends and family, of growing up on opposite sides of the country (Dave in upstate New York and Megan in Alaska), and of the many commonalities we had that ranged from favorite TV shows to music to sports.” The second date was soon locked in and the rest is history.Number of guests: 120Wedding colors: Champagne, pale pink and sage greenUnique and special aspects of their day: “When we decided to get married in Alaska, we knew that the location alone would provide such a unique and special experience for many of our out-of-state guests.” The groom’s father, a skilled craftsman, made custom wooden flowerbox centerpieces for each table; and a close friend painted the watercolor table number signs and name cards. Also special: the groom’s nieces (ages 9 and 12) wrote and recited their own short pieces during the ceremony.Most memorable moment…For her: “We were completely blown away by the speeches from our loved ones. For me, that was one of the most memorable parts of our day. Each speech was so special, so thoughtful, very unique to the person delivering it and truly captivated the entire room.”For him: “I remember being struck by watching the little exchanges between our guests. In some instances, it’d be two people from opposite sides of the country, with completely different life experiences, and the only real thing they have in common is their love for the bride and groom.”
