Amanda & Josh

June 14, 2024

Bride’s name: Amanda Aafedt

Groom’s name: Josh Erhardt

How they met: “We both matched on the dating app Hinge. We had our first date at Club Paris in Anchorage and the rest is history!”

Number of guests: 120

Wedding colors: Pink, coral, orange, green, ivory; Metals: Copper and gold accents

Unique and special aspects of the day: “The logs placed in the fireplace behind our sweetheart table during our reception were cut from the first trees Josh and I downed on our recently purchased property in Meadow Lakes. The moose and caribou antlers used as decor during the ceremony are from hunting trips Josh experienced throughout Alaska. Numerous cardboard cutouts of our yorkshire terrier pup, Persia, were hidden throughout the venue grounds for guests to find while attending the reception.”

Most memorable moment…

For her: “Feeling the warm sunshine while walking down the aisle, smelling the fragrant florals saturating the venue air, and seeing the smiling faces of our loved ones while they laughed and enjoyed the evening.”

For him: “Finally seeing my wife in her wedding dress as she came around the corner with a big smile, radiating beauty and happiness as she walked towards me down the aisle. It was the first time in my life where I had tears of joy.”

Funniest moment: “While striking the perfect, post-ceremony aisle dip, my dress unsnapped mid-kiss! We welcomed the silly snafu with giggles to kick off our first moments as husband and wife!”

Three words that best describe their day: “Joyous, blessed, fulfilling.”

If they had the chance to do it again, what they would do differently: “Hire a videographer! We underestimated the value of having film capture our ceremony and special reception moments. We sure wish we would have chosen to invest in our memories via videography.”

Best advice for a couple planning their wedding: Hire a full-service wedding planner. “Ayla Otto curated a seamless wedding day that was stress free for Josh and me allowing us to be fully present with our loved ones and each other.”
